THE 2005 WELSH EXPERIENCE
In the three weeks we spent in Wales, so much happened that we are only able to briefly mention some of the non-stud activities:-
Shrewsbury Show held on Sunday July 31 incorporated the National Welsh Championship Show. To qualify for this prestigious championship, animals MUST have been section champions or reserve champions at qualifying shows.

National Supreme Welsh Pony Champion, the Chestnut Colt Moelgarnedd Derwyn (Carwed Charmer x Moelgarnedd Madonna) |
National Supreme Welsh Mountain Pony Champion, the Grey Stallion from Holland - Vechtszichts Hywel (Springbourne Claret x Vechtszichts Hylight) |
National Supreme Welsh Pony of Cob Type Champion, the Bay Mare Nebo Rachel (Nebo Daniel x Eugrad de Javu) |
National Supreme Cob Champion, the Bay Mare Nebo Miss Maple (Derwen Desert Express x Nebo Princess Alice) |
Champion Junior Cob Stallion Cascob Brave Heart (Cascob Dafydd Ddu x Cascob Matilda) - here just because he is a fine animal |
Dressed in Welsh National Costume, left Lucy Morris (8) and Katie Like (5). Lucy is Jocelyn Price's granddaughter |
Those of you who have been concentrating and studying the pictures would have noticed the following:-
1 The handler of both the Section A and Section B Supreme Champions above is the same person, namely Colin Tibbey who incidentally was celebrating his 50th birthday at that show.
2 The handler (and owner) of both the Section C and Section D Supreme Champions above is also the same person, namely Owen Jones from the Nebo Stud. Members would remember him as he accompanied his father Geraint Jones who was the judge of the breed classes at our 2003 SA National Championships.
3 The sire of both the Section D Supreme Champion above Nebo Miss Maple and the Reserve to the George Prince of Wales Cup Winner Fronarth Model Lady is the same, namely Derwen Desert Express - (now where have we seen that name before?).

Glynis claims that this is the closest that she will get to the George Prince of Wales Cup
